The Clare Region Winegrape Growers Association (CRWGA) represents more than 200 grape growers, producing about 20,000 tonnes of wine grapes a year. The region is renowned for its award-winning Riesling wines as well as its premium red varieties, including Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, and some new stars which include Pinot Gris, Mataro and Tempranillo.
We aim to provide regional grape grower representation at an industry level and facilitate grower needs to ensure the economically and environmentally sustainable production of wine grapes.
Our current strategies focus on grower representation, facilitating relevant viticultural training and workshops, as well as disseminating industry information. The CRWGA endeavours to unify the regions grape growers and to maintain the association’s vision of “Helping Growers Grow”.
The CRWGA is funded by a voluntary levy system for all grape growers in the Clare region which enables the association to carry out its key goals.
One such goal has been the introduction of our GrowCare Clare program which provides growers with a timely pest and disease information service for the region.
The CRWGA also runs several industry workshops and seminars each year, targeting viticultural initiatives that benefit our grape growers in a range of areas including the latest technical information, environmentally sustainable practices and relevant economic and commercial information.
The CRWGA strives to maintain strong links with the Clare Valley Winemakers Incorporated, working together to promote the region and its wines. It is also a member organisation of the Clare Alliance which is a collaboration of the food, wine and tourism industries in the Clare Valley.
Our new website aims to simplify access to the latest releases of GrowCare Clare and keep you aware of upcoming events.
